Sustainable Energy Services have recently installed a 7.1kwp solar array to an apartment building in Ashford, Kent.

The chosen mounting system for this installation was from a manufacturer named K2.

K2 provide a high quality fixing frame for solar which also gives the engineer installing a simply process to follow from start to finish.

We were only booked on the site for 2 days which meant the mounting system needed to be of a superior quality.

As shown in the pictures this solar array is fixed to the roof and anchored down at certain points along the run.

Wind deflectors are also install to the rear of the panels to reduce wind uplift and the panels clamped to the frame at multiple points.

Our solar system was designed in-house to ensure it fitted neatly between the man-safe system and provided future maintenance users with a safe walk space in front of the panels.

Our cables were neatly transitioned from the riser to the panels via cable tray mounted on rubber feet and the wiring between panels was neatly clipped to the frame system.

Unfortunately for us the crane had just been decommissioned on the day of our arrival so we have to manually carry all of our equipment to the roof (8 storeys). Our engineer however carried this out, installed the array and commissioned all within the 2 day time limit.
